VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Officials say they are certain that former NFL star and convicted killer Aaron Hernandez took his own life. Massachusetts officials on Thursday ruled his death a suicide with asphyxia by hanging as the official cause of death. Now his family and legal team are raising the possibility Hernandez suffered from CTE, the degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head trauma. NBC national correspondent Miguel Almaguer reports for TODAY.
